| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Diocletian facing right, depicted from the front with detailed military dress. The effigy is rendered in the late Roman provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, reading Α Κ Γ ΟΥΑ ΔΙΟΚΛΗΤΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Augustus. The coin bears a dotted border typical of Alexandrian tetradrachms of this period. |
