| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Diocletian facing right, with short beard, set within a beaded border. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the late Roman provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. The Greek legend ΔΙΟΚΛΗΤΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ (Diocletianus Sebastos) runs around the periphery of the flan. |
