| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Carinus facing right, depicted from the front in three-quarter view, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The obverse legend in Greek characters reads Α Κ Μ Α ΚΑΡΙΝΟϹ Κ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature.
