| Obverse description | Draped bust of Faustina II, wearing a stephane (diadem crown), facing right, rendered in a provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian mint workmanship. The portrait displays the empress's characteristic coiffure partially visible beneath the stephane. The surrounding legend in Greek reads ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ, with the alphas rendered in the distinctive lambda (Λ) form typical of this provincial issue. The flan is irregular in shape, as is common for hammered provincial silver coinage of this period. |
