Obverse description Laureate bare-necked bust of Tiberius facing right, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The circular Greek legend ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ runs around the periphery of the field. The regnal year ΛΚΓ (year 23, corresponding to 36-37 AD) appears in the lower right field before the bust. The portrait exhibits the characteristic robust modelling of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage, with strong facial features and a well-defined jaw.
