Obverse description Radiate and draped bust of Tetricus II as Caesar facing right, wearing a radiate crown with pronounced spikes, the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder visible below the bust truncation. The portrait is rendered in the debased late Gallic imperial style characteristic of the period. The encircling Latin legend reads C PIV ESV TETRICVS CAES, distributed around the periphery of the flan.

Reverse description The personification of Spes advancing left in flowing robes, holding an upright flower or blossom in her raised right hand while gathering her skirt with her lowered left hand, a standard iconographic type denoting hope for the dynasty's future.
