Obverse description Radiate, draped bust of Tetricus II facing right, rendered in the crude, schematic style characteristic of barbarous imitations of Gallic Empire coinage. The radiate crown is visible atop the head, with the drapery indicated at the shoulder. A partially legible Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading C PIV E [...] VS CE, an abbreviated and garbled version of the standard titulature C PIV ESV TETRICVS CAES. The die-cutting is irregular and summary, reflecting the unofficial nature of the piece.

Reverse description The personification of Spes (Hope) advancing left, rendered in a simplified and debased style consistent with barbarous imitation coinage of the Gallic Empire period. She holds a flower or blossom raised in her right hand and lifts her skirt or robe with her left hand in the standard iconographic convention for this type. The surrounding legend SPES [...] is partially legible, representing a garbled derivative of the prototype reverse legend SPES PVBLICA. The overall execution is coarse, with shallow relief and irregular flan shape.
