Reverse description A Roman war galley depicted moving to the left, rendered with oars extended and occasionally with sails raised, crewed by four or five rowers with a steersman at the helm. The vessel's hull and rigging are rendered in fine detail typical of Lugdunese workshop production. The reverse legend LAETITIA AVG, meaning 'the Joy of the Emperor,' is distributed in the field around the galley, with AVG appearing in the exergue.
