| Obverse description | Radiate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximianus (Maximian) facing right, rendered in the characteristic late third-century imperial style. The radiate crown, a distinguishing attribute of the antoninianus denomination, surmounts the portrait. The encircling Latin legend names the emperor in his capacity as Augustus. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show considerable wear and encrustation consistent with extended circulation. |
