Obverse description Radiate, helmeted, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Maximianus facing right, depicted in a martial effigy befitting his role as co-Augustus. The radiate crown surmounts the crested helmet, while the cuirass with shoulder straps and paludamentum are rendered in fine relief. The encircling Latin legend runs along the beaded border of the flan. The portrait conveys the vigorous, military character characteristic of Tetrarchic die-engraving.

Obverse lettering IMP C MAXIMIANVS P F AVG
(Translation: Imperator Caesar Maximianus Pius Felix Augustus. Supreme commander (Imperator), Caesar Maximianus, the pious, the fortunate, emperor (Augustus).)
Reverse description Hercules, nude and muscular, stands facing right in a dynamic pose, both arms raised as he forcefully strangles the Nemean lion, which is depicted rearing against him. A knotted club is visible behind the figures in the field, serving as an attribute of the hero. The scene is enclosed within a beaded border, with the reverse legend distributed across the upper field. The composition alludes to Maximianus's divine association with Hercules, a central element of Tetrarchic imperial ideology.
