Reverse description Hercules standing facing right, nude save for the Nemean lion's skin draped over his left arm, holding a grounded club in his right hand and the bow and lion's skin in his left. The figure is rendered in the bold, compact style characteristic of Tetrarchic reverses, emphasising the divine patron of Maximianus Herculius. The reverse legend VIRTVS AVGVSTORVM arcs around the upper field, while the mintmark, incorporating XXI and an officina letter, appears in the exergue and field, denoting the silver content and workshop of issue.
