| Reverse description | Winged Victory, draped, standing to the right before a palm tree, inscribing the votive formula VOT X on a shield propped against the palm tree's trunk. The palm tree, a symbol of triumph and longevity, serves as the central compositional axis of the reverse design. The votive legend PRIMIS X MVLTIS XX commemorates Maximianus's decennial vows, expressing the hope that his first ten years of rule would be followed by many more decades of imperial reign. Mint control marks appear in the left field and in the exergue, identifying the issuing officina. The overall composition reflects the standardized iconographic programme of the Diocletianic reform coinage. |
