| Obverse description | Radiate, draped or cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximianus facing right, rendered in the robust late Roman imperial style typical of the Tetrarchic period. The radiate crown, consisting of pointed rays, identifies the denomination as an antoninianus. The imperial effigy is portrayed with strong, stylised facial features characteristic of Tetrarchic portraiture. The obverse legend encircles the bust, reading IMP C M A MAXIMIANVS P F AVG. The field is otherwise plain. |
