| Obverse description | Radiate, draped bust of Galerius (issued under the name Maximianus) facing right, set upon a crescent, rendered in the late Tetrarchic style with compact military character. The radiate crown, a distinguishing feature of the antoninianus denomination, rises prominently above the portrait. The cuirass or drapery is visible across the shoulder, and the bust is truncated at the lower chest. The encircling Latin obverse legend reads MAXIMIANVS NOB C, identifying the ruler as Maximianus, Nobilis Caesar. |
