| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Carausius facing right, the radiate crown with prominent points characteristic of the antoninianus denomination. The portrait displays the emperor in military attire, with drapery visible over the left shoulder and cuirass detail at the truncation. The circumferential Latin legend reads IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG, distributed around the bust within a beaded border. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of the hand-struck coinage of the Britannic Empire, and the surfaces display an olive-brown patina with areas of green encrustation. |
