| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborate Ottoman tughra of Sultan Abdülhamid I in bold raised relief, surrounded by a multi-line Arabic legend reading 'Sultan Abdülhamid bin Ahmed Han, darebe fi Kostantiniyye 1187' with the regnal year (rumi) appearing in the lower field. An ornamental device appears above the name Abdülhamid. The entire composition is enclosed within a plain inner circle and a beaded outer border. The coin was struck at the Kostantiniyye (Constantinople) mint with recorded weights ranging between 26.1 and 26.9 g. |

| Reverse description | Central field filled with a multi-line Arabic honorific legend in stylized Ottoman script, reading 'Sultan ul-Barrayn wa Khakan ul-Bahrayn es-Sultan ibn es-Sultan,' proclaiming the ruler as sovereign of the two lands and khagan of the two seas. The text is arranged in bold, densely packed lines across the full width of the flan, enclosed within a plain inner circle and a beaded outer border consistent with the obverse. The overall design follows the standard typology of large-module Ottoman billon issues of the late eighteenth century. |
