Obverse description Central field enclosed within a beaded border, bearing a two-line Arabic inscription giving the sultan's titulature: 'Murad Ibn Orhan,' flanked above and below by ornamental arabesques. The legends are rendered in angular Kufic-influenced script characteristic of early Ottoman coinage. The overall design is simple and austere, conforming to the standard hammered akçe format of the period.
