Obverse description Central field bearing the sultan's name and titles in Arabic calligraphy, arranged in multiple lines of thuluth script. The legend reads the ruler's name Muhammad ibn Bayazid (Mehmed I) along with the mint name Edirne and the regnal year 816 AH. The inscription is contained within a plain circular border, with the entire surface showing the characteristic irregular flan typical of early Ottoman hammered coinage. The script is bold and deeply struck, consistent with early fifteenth-century Ottoman epigraphic style.
