Additional information

Dawlat II Giray's second reign lasted barely a year — the Ottomans deposed him in 1699, reinstated him briefly, then removed him again in 1702, a pattern of installation and removal that defined Giray dynastic politics throughout the late seventeenth century. The akçe by this period had been so thoroughly debased over the preceding decades that surviving examples at or near full weight are genuinely unusual.
