Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the high-relief provincial style characteristic of the Lydian conventus. The emperor's paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder, with detailed folds of drapery beneath the cuirass. The laureate wreath encircles the head with fine linear detail. The obverse legend runs around the periphery in Greek capitals, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature.
