Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus Thrax facing right, depicted from a rear three-quarter perspective, conveying a sense of martial authority characteristic of his reign. The imperial effigy displays the emperor's distinctive features rendered in the provincial die-cutting style of Thyatira. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full titulature in the nominative case. The flan is broad and heavy, consistent with the large-module civic bronze coinage of the Pergamene conventus under Severan and early post-Severan rule.
