| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed with short curly hair and beard, the paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder over segmented armour. The effigy is rendered in the vigorous, slightly severe style characteristic of Caracallan provincial portraiture. The circular Greek legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan within a beaded border. |
