| Reverse description | Apollo-Tyrimnaios, nude and radiate, standing in a galloping quadriga driven to the right, holding a double axe (labrys) and a laurel branch as attributes of his syncretized local cult identity. Below the horses, a river god reclines to the left in the exergue, personifying one of the local waterways of the Thyatiran region. The reverse legend in Greek names the strategos Demostratos and the city of Thyateira, reflecting the civic coinage convention of the Pergamene conventus under the reign of Marcus Aurelius. |
