Reverse description Elaborate architectural scene depicting an enclosed precinct or temenos, with a distyle temple visible at the far end. Before the temple, the standing figure of Caracalla faces right and extends his right hand to offer or raise a crown. Assembled before him are numerous citizens and, to the left, soldiers bearing shields and spears, conveying a ceremonial or dedicatory event. The composition exemplifies the grand civic iconography typical of large-module provincial bronzes from Asia Minor, celebrating the neocorate status of Laodicea.
