| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, presented in three-quarter frontal view. The cuirass is adorned with an aegis and bears a prominent gorgoneion at the centre. The emperor holds a sceptre in his raised right hand, projecting an image of imperial authority. The portrait is rendered in the vigorous, realistic style characteristic of Severan provincial coinage. The encircling legend names the emperor in the nominative case in Greek characters. |
