Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, depicted from the rear in the so-called heroic three-quarter perspective, a presentation characteristic of large provincial bronze coinage of this period. The emperor's effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath crown, paludamentum draped over the cuirass, and finely articulated shoulder armour. The surrounding Greek legend identifies the emperor by his official titulature. The portrait, though heavily patinated, retains clear facial features and strong relief consistent with the provincial die-cutting traditions of the Pergamene conventus.
