| Obverse description | Draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus, laureate with short beard, facing right and seen from the rear, wearing paludamentum over cuirass. The legend encircling the obverse reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡΗ ΚΟΜΟΔΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his abbreviated imperial titulature. The bust type, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of the Pergamene mint, displays careful attention to military iconography through the detailed rendering of the cuirass and cloak. |
