Reverse description Standing figure of Hygieia to the right, extending a patera from which a serpent feeds, facing the standing figure of Asclepius to the left, who holds his serpent-entwined staff (kerykeion); between the two deities, a flaming altar occupies the central ground line. The composition is symmetrically arranged and reflects the strong Pergamene cult tradition associated with the sanctuary of Asclepius (Asclepion). A Greek civic legend surrounds the figural group along the coin's periphery.
