Reverse description Two ornately decorated altars depicted side by side, each surmounted by a sacred basket (kalathos) resting upon horizontal bars; within each basket, branches and a staff topped with a crescent and star are visible. Each altar is supported by three attendant figures grasping the bars, with two additional figures standing upon the bars and holding lit torches aloft. The composition references the celebrated religious festival and neocorate status of Cyzicus. The field inscription identifies the city's neocorate honor and includes the magistrate's initials.
