| Obverse description | Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, depicted from the front in three-quarter view, wearing a muscled cuirass adorned with a prominent gorgoneion at the centre of the breastplate. The portrait conveys the emperor's characteristic broad features and heavy neck, executed in the vigorous provincial style typical of Pergamene bronze coinage. The imperial legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
