Obverse description Bare-headed bust of the emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, clad in cuirass and paludamentum. The effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynian civic coinage, with the imperial portrait occupying the central field. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his titulature. The flan is notably large and heavy, consistent with the grand civic bronze issues of Prusias ad Hypium during the Antonine period.
