At his feet to the right, Telephus kneels to the left, accompanied by a roe deer facing right, alluding to the mythological founding legend of Germe. To the far right, an eagle is perched upon a rock, a symbol of divine favour. The reverse legend in Greek identifies the local strategos and the civic ethnic of the Germeneans.
