| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Severus Alexander facing right, depicted from behind, rendering visible the back of the cuirass and the folds of the paludamentum. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait style is characteristic of the provincial bronze coinage of the Lydian conventus, with strong die-cutting typical of the Sardis workshop. |
