Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Antinous facing right, depicted with his characteristic youthful idealized features, full wavy hair bound with a band or wreath, and a draped shoulder. The Greek legend ΒΕΤΟΥΡΙΟϹ, referencing the magistrate Veturius, is inscribed in the field flanking the portrait. The rendering reflects the Hadrianic artistic convention for portraying the deified favourite with a serene, almost divine countenance.
