Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, portrayed from behind in the so-called rear-view convention typical of certain eastern provincial issues, with the laureate wreath, paludamentum, and scale armour rendered in relief. The encircling Greek legend reads in full around the periphery of the flan.

Reverse description Hermes seated in three-quarter view to the left upon a rocky outcrop, the god rendered semi-nude with drapery across the lower body, holding a caduceus in his left hand. The figure is depicted in the provincial Greek artistic tradition, with the encircling epigraphic legend distributed around the field naming the local strategos responsible for the issue. The civic ethnic ΜΕΙΛΗΤΟΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ appears in the lower portion of the legend.
