Reverse description Hecate standing facing, her head turned to the left, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical polos) upon her head. She holds a patera in her extended right hand and a long torch in her left hand, with a dog seated at her feet. The field is encircled by the magistrate's legend naming the prostatès Zosimos and the civic ethnic of the Stratonikeans, rendered in Greek characters around the periphery. The reverse iconography reflects the particular veneration of Hecate as the principal civic deity of Stratonicea in Caria.
