Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view favoured in provincial coinage of Asia Minor. The emperor's paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, and the laurel wreath crowns the head. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative. The portrait exhibits the bold, high-relief style typical of Pergamene civic bronzes of the Severan period.
