| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, presented from behind, with paludamentum visible over the shoulder. The emperor's portrait is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Phrygia region, with bold, slightly stylized facial features. The circumferential Greek legend runs around the field, partially obscured by heavy green patination. A post-antique hole is present at the right of the field, consistent with ancient or later suspension use. |
