Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I (the Arab) facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy displays characteristic portraiture of Philip I with broad facial features. The Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature.
