| Obverse description | Youthful cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Commodus as Caesar, laureate, facing right, seen from the centre. The portrait reflects the early co-reign period, with the legend encircling the bust in Greek characters. The modelling of the face is characteristic of provincial Lydian die-cutting of the Antonine period. |
