| Obverse description | Youthful cuirassed bust of Commodus, draped with paludamentum, laureate, facing right in three-quarter frontal view. The portrait reflects the early co-imperial iconography of Commodus as junior emperor alongside Marcus Aurelius. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor in Greek characters. The rendering is characteristic of provincial bronze coinage from the Pergamene conventus, displaying bold high-relief portraiture typical of Lydian civic issues of the late 2nd century AD. |
