Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Macrinus facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of his provincial coinage. The effigy displays paludamentum folds over the cuirass, rendered in the provincial Greek style. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΟΠΕΛ ϹΕΒΗΡ ΜΑΚΡΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ. The overall workmanship reflects the local Lydian mint's artistic conventions of the early third century AD.
