| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, seen from the rear, with the radiate crown clearly rendered atop the imperial effigy. The paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, and the portrait exhibits the characteristic youthful features associated with Gordian III's numismatic type. The encircling Greek legend runs along the rim on both sides of the bust. The overall style is consistent with Phrygian provincial bronze coinage of the mid-3rd century AD. |
