Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted with a long beard, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, the figure shown from the rear in the characteristic heroic military presentation favoured in Antonine provincial coinage. The imperial effigy is rendered in high relief typical of Lydian civic bronzes. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative, framing the bust around the coin's periphery.
