| Obverse description | Laureate bust of the emperor Trajan facing right, depicted nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the characteristic Romano-Egyptian provincial style. The imperial effigy displays the emperor's well-known portraiture with a radiate laurel wreath crown. A circular Greek legend frames the bust in the field, reading along the periphery. The overall workmanship reflects the Alexandrian mint's provincial bronze coinage tradition of the early second century AD. |
