Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, displaying the emperor's military attire with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The effigy is presented in the characteristic provincial style of the Smyrnaean mint, with fine detail in the laureate wreath and drapery folds. The obverse legend runs in Greek characters around the bust.

Reverse description The reverse features a bold multi-line Greek honorific inscription arranged in six lines within the field, entirely enclosed by a laurel wreath. The wreath is tied at the base and frames the legend, which proudly proclaims Smyrna's triple neocorate status and primacy in Asia. An outer circular legend runs along the periphery, and a plain border surrounds the whole design, typical of the prestigious civic coinage of Smyrna under the Severan dynasty.
