Reverse description A multi-line Greek honorific inscription is displayed within a prominent laurel wreath tied at the base, referencing the neocorate status of Flavian Philadelphia and the celebration of the Dian Helian games under the eponymous archon Aurelius Maximus Iulianus. The wreath, rendered in fine relief, frames the legend symmetrically and is bound at its lower extremity by a decorative tie. A surrounding peripheral legend provides additional titulature of the city and magistrate. The overall composition is typical of civic bronze issues from the Conventus of Sardis commemorating agonistic festivals.
