Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I facing right, rendered from a three-quarter rear perspective, with the elaborate folds of the imperial paludamentum and the decorative pteryges of the cuirass clearly articulated. The emperor's radiate laurel wreath and short beard are rendered with fine detail characteristic of provincial bronze coinage. The encircling Greek legend runs along the beaded border from left to right.
