Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, depicted from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with bold, slightly stylized features. A Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, identifying the emperor by his honorific titles. The flan is broad and irregular, consistent with Alexandrian nome coinage of the Trajanic period.
