Obverse description Laureate bust of the emperor Trajan facing right, shown nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style characteristic of Egyptian bronze coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic close-cropped hair and strong facial features associated with Trajanic portraiture. The surrounding legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of large-module Egyptian provincial bronze issues of the early second century AD.

Reverse description The goddess Neith, syncretised with Athena, standing facing with head turned to the left, clad in helmet and aegis, holding an owl in her extended right hand and a spear in her left hand. An Egyptian altar is depicted in the left field at her feet, emphasising the hybrid Graeco-Egyptian character of the deity as worshipped in the Saite nome. The reverse legend identifies the nome and the regnal year, placed in the field around the central figure.
